Permobil is in search of a Inspector to join our team in Pasco, WA.  Pasco is situated along the Columbia and Snake Rivers in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State (Pasco, Kennewick, Richland), and is one of the fastest growing young metropolitan areas in Washington. Residents enjoy the Tri-Cities' excellent school systems, non-existent traffic congestion, award-winning wineries and craft distilleries, sunny, warm weather (annual precipitation of less than 7 inches), and affordable cost of living. The diverse culture offers activities for avid outdoor enthusiasts as well as those who enjoy the city life activities such as fine dining, golfing and cultural events.


Duties and Responsibilities


Essential Functions:

  • Perform inspections, checks, and tests on wheelchair frames, wheelchair components, and finished wheelchairs, based on defined criteria, using standard physical, mechanical, and/ or electrical measurements.
  • Accept or reject finished products as required.
  • Conduct and document process and system audits using written procedures as audit standards.
  • Accurately document inspection and testing results.
  • Maintain controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration.
  • Participate in construction and/or revision of inspection procedures.
  • Assist in writing and updating inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists.
  • Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action.
  • Work with production team, engineering team, and quality control team to provide feedback to fabricators and assemblers regarding production procedures.
  • Review device history records and other documentation for compliance with established procedures.
  • Perform detailed and accurate work.
  • Perform accurate counting and mathematical calculations.
  • Follow direction, procedures, and instructions for all work assignments.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and awareness of surroundings.
  • Work independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Maintain professionalism.
  • Support all quality, safety, and environmental programs.
  • Maintain regular attendance and report to work on time.

Knowledge and Skills Needed

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency in the English language (written and oral).
  • Strong communication, reading, counting, and math skills.
  • Working knowledge of measuring instruments.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and perform accurate work.
  • 2+ years of Quality Control experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings.


Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing plant; exposure to elements such as noise, dust, cold, heat, and/or odor.
  • Overtime as assigned.


Physical Demands

  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly, on and off inspection tables, throughout 8+ hour shift.
  • Stand, move around the plant, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity; ability to see fine details of objects.
